4 batsmen who never hit a six in their ODI careers
They scored hundreds, hit fours but couldn't clear the fence.
Mumbai: Batting, they say, is an art but a few batsmen over the years took the artistic value to an all new level. They preferred ticking the scoreboard with quick singles and the most they could manage is a four. When cricketers like Shahid Afridi hits sixes for fun, these batsmen didn't manage to hit even one.
Manoj Prabhakar (India): The all-rounder played for 12 years and appeared in 130 ODI matches. Even after two hundreds and 11 half-centuries, he never cleared the fence in ODI cricket.
Dion Ebrahim (Zimbabwe): This gentleman couldn’t slam a six both in Tests and ODIs. He represented his country in 82 ODIs and 29 Test matches. He has one ODI ton, four half-centuries; 10 half-centuries in Tests.
Thilan Samaraweera (Sri Lanka): An efficient batsman, played 81 Tests and scored 5,462 runs at an average of 48.76. In ODI cricket, he wasn’t as successful but he did appear in 53 matches and has two hundreds to his credit, without a single six.
Geoffrey Boycott (England): The legendary English batsman scored more than 1,000 runs in his ODI career but his strokes never had the elevation. He has one ton and nine half-centuries, not a single six in any of the limited-overs innings.
