Chennai: MS Dhoni will mentor Jharkhand in the Kalpathi-AGS all-India Buchi Babu invitation tournament that begins in the city on August 5.

India’s ODI skipper, however, will join the team on August 10, on the eve of their final league match.

He would later leave for the US to lead India against the West Indies in a two-match T20 series. Another big name to feature in the 14-day tournament is Suresh Raina who will lead Uttar Pradesh.

The all-India tournament has been a traditional opener for the domestic season and this year it will feature five outstation teams — Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Railways, Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association — and three local sides — TNCA President’s XI, City XI and Districts XI. The winners will take home Rs 1 lakh.
