Mumbai: Ahead of Indian Premier League 2018 auction which will be held on January 27-28, all the eight franchises on Thursday revealed the list of players who they retained for the upcoming season.
Royal Challengers Bangalore made Virat Kohli the highest paid cricketer in IPL history by buying him for 17 crores, meanwhile, Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings paid 15 crores to retain Rohit Sharma and MS Dhoni respectively.
Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bengaluru raised eyebrows with their retention policy. While KKR sent their skipper Gautam Gambhir to the auction pool, RCB decided to let go of Chris Gayle.
David Warner and Bhuvneshwar Kumar were retained by Sunrisers Hyderabad while Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant, and South Africa all-rounder Chris Morris were retained by Delhi Daredevils.
Rajasthan Royals and Kings XI Punjab decided to retain only one player each. Royals retained Steve Smith., while the Punjab side decided to retain Axar Patel leaving pout likes of Glen Maxwell, Hashim Amla, David Miller and Sandeep Sharma.

Kings XI Punjab: Rs. 67.5 crore
