Mumbai: Cricketer names, in the ninth edition of IPL, already made a noise during the auctions for their humorous side — Michael Beer, Sachin Baby, Washington Sundar et al. But misspelling them set the bees buzzing. After Usman Khawaja’s Rising Pune Supergiants jersey came as ‘Khwaja’, Delhi Daredevils cricketer Sam Billings couldn’t recognise himself in his Mohali hotel.

An envelope, probably to welcome him, said: “Mr Willinibillings.”

Billings tweeted: “Arrived in Mohali, bit of a name change…Mr Willinibillings.”

The English cricketer has been instrumental in Delhi’s turnaround recently. He scored 54 against Kolkata Knight Riders.

Though Delhi couldn’t get the better of Pune, Billing took a brilliant catch to dismiss MS Dhoni.
