31-year-old Dhawan is all set to make a comeback to the national side after he was named in the 15-man T20 squad set to face the mighty Australians in a three-match series.
Dhawan, who last played for India in the final ODI against Sri Lanka on August 31, had opted out of the five-match ODI series against Australia to tend to his ailing wife, and was eventually not picked up by the selectors. It was a series which was dominated by Virat Kohli and co, who eased to a 4-1 series win, with Steve Smith’s side managing a win in the fourth ODI.
The Men in Blue will hope to continue their good run when the two teams face-off in the first of the three T20s here on Saturday. The first T20 will be followed by the second and third matches on October 10 and 13 respectively.
