Sony Six to broadcast IPL in Telugu
English feed will be available on Sony ESPN & Sony ESPN HD channels while the Hindi feed will be available on MAX, Sony SIX & Sony SIX HD.
Hyderabad: Buoyed by the success of the IPL, broadcasters Sony Pictures Networks India (SPN) have unveiled their regional campaign for the 2016 edition to further strengthen their reach through localisation of content. Encouraged by the overwhelming response to the regional feeds last year, Sony has continued its initiative of multi-language feeds in Telugu, Tamil and Bengali for their flagship cricket event. They will be available on Sony SIX.
The English feed will be available on Sony ESPN & Sony ESPN HD channels while the Hindi feed will be available on MAX, Sony SIX & Sony SIX HD.
“Visuals, including advertisements will be pan India while viewers will have the choice of switching to regional language commentary on SIX,” Prasana Krishnan, Executive Vice President and Business Head of SPN’s sports cluster, told reporters here on Wednesday.
The Telugu commentators panel comprises former cricketers Y. Venugopal Rao, Kalyan Krishna, umpire/scorer/analyst P. Chandrasekhar, C. Venkatesh and Sudhir Mahavadi. Former cricketers Navjot Sidhu, Murali Kartik, Atul Wassan, Vivek Razdan, Devang Gandhi and Ayaz Memon will be the Hindi voices with Devang also doubling up in Bengali alongside Ranadeb Bose and Abhishek Jhunjhunwala while Sadagoppan Ramesh, Hemang Badani and V.B. Chandrasekhar are among the Tamil commentators.
