Chennai Super Kings face Mumbai Indians in the tournament opener on Saturday.
Chennai: MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings (CSK) is all set to open the new season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) when they play Mumbai Indians at Wankhede Stadium on Saturday.
CSK, making a return to the cash-rich league had retained Dhoni along with Suresh Raina and Ravindra Jadeja during the IPL player retention event in January.
Ever since the team retained the famous trio, CSK fans have been eagerly waiting to see them back in the Yellow jersey.
On Friday, the two-time IPL champions released a new video of CSK’s new ‘Whitsle Podu’ anthem where Dhoni and co can be seen making some entertaining dance moves.
Following the 2015 season of the IPL, Stephen Fleming-coached CSK, along with Rajasthan Royals (RR) were banned from the tournament for two years due to spot-fixing. They were replaced by Rising Pune Supergiant (RPS) and Gujarat Lions for the past two seasons.
This year, Dhoni and his men will be looking to clinch CSK’s third IPL title. The last time the South Indian outfit won the league was back in 2011, beating Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the final.
