Mumbai: India limited-overs skipper MS Dhoni — who turned 35 today — is known for his down-to-earth demeanour. One of the greatest ever leaders, he stays grounded, which is why he is liked by many; recently a Pakistan model, Mathira Mohammad, revealed a tale about ‘Captain Cool’.

The story is from one of India’s tours in Pakistan. Since the arrival of the wicketkeeper/batsman; India went to Pakistan in 2006 (for a bilateral ODI and Test series) and 2008 (Asia Cup).

Mathira stayed in the same hotel as the cricket teams, India and Pakistan, and kept an eye for autographs. The poor lady didn’t get to meet her favourite Pakistan cricketers and was actually shown the door for causing disturbance during team dinner.

At that moment, Dhoni came forward and gave his autograph. He also asked her to sit by his side and interacted with her.

The incident took place during Asia Cup in 1998.
