Mohammad Rizwan replaces Babar Azam as Men’s No 1 T20I batter

HYDERABAD: Pakistan cricket team captain Babar Azam has been replaced as the top-ranked Men’s T20I batter and it is his teammate Mohammad Rizwan who displaces him.

Rizwan has been in red hot form in the on-going Asia Cup, leading the runs chart with 192 runs in 3 matches. His scores of 78* and 71 against Hong Kong and India respectively have helped his team win back-to-back matches.

Reacting to his elevation in the rankings, Rizwan tweeted “Count this as 1156th day of the reign of Kaptaan  @babarazam258. Kaptaan or me alag nahi hain. The King remains the King. Hum sab aik hain.” (sic).

Rizwan, in his tweet said that his captain Babar Azam and he were not different. He also thanked his fans and supporters in his tweet.

Babar Azam held the top tank for 1155 days before Rizwan displaced him from the position in the ICC Rankings.
