Mumbai: Former Australian cricketer Geoff Marsh was on cloud nine when his sons Shaun and Mitchell registered hundreds in the same innings of Sydney Ashes Test on Sunday.

Geoff said: “It is a very proud moment for our family. Like all parents, you are nervous for your own. And having two sons, I get twice as nervous.”

Shaun started the day on 98 runs. “Shaun was fine overnight. Being on 98 every player is thinking about the next two runs in your sleep. You have to start again in the morning which is always a slight worry,” the member of the 1987 World Cup winning team said. “The important thing is we win the game and have contributed to the team,” he added.

Chappell brothers (Ian & Greg) and Waugh brothers (Steve & Mark) were the others to score tons in an Ashes Test innings.
