England vs India, ODIs: After solid show for CSK, Ambati Rayudu makes comeback
Playing under MS Dhoni at Chennai Super Kings, Rayudu leads the Orange Cap holders list with 423 runs in 10 matches.
Mumbai: Ambati Rayudu has made a comeback into the national team replacing Manish Pandey in the Team India squad for the three-match ODI series against England set to take place in July. The Hyderabad batsman has been in blistering form for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the 2018 Indian Premier League, leading the Orange Cap holders list with 423 runs in 10 matches.
With an magnificient strike rate of 151.61, Rayudu has struck 2 half centuries, smashing 39 fours and 22 sixes. In contrast, Pandey has been undergoing a dismal patch with IPL table toppers Sunrisers Hyderabad that may have well cost him his place.
Virat Kohli will lead the side with Rohit Sharma as vice-captain. The ODI series begins on July 12, with the three ODIs to be played on July 12, 14 and 17, respectively.
Before that, the Men in Blue will take on England in a three-match T20Is series
On its previous tour England back in 2014, MS Dhoni-led India clinched the five-match ODI series by a margin of 3-1. Play was washed out due to rain in the first contest but the visitors bounced back to win their next three ODIs on the trot. The hosts, however, grabbed a consolation win in the last match.
