Hyderabad: Sports in the state is set for an uplift with Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao calling for a high-powered meeting of government officials and the Sports Minister following a proposal submitted by A. Venkateshwar Reddy, chairman of the Sports Authority of Telangana State.
“Among the requests on the list are two per cent reservation in jobs for sportspersons; 150 coaches to be appointed; setting up sports hostels in every district; regulation of all coaching staff; renovation of Lal Bahadur Stadium; special financial aid to SATS and also to wrestling akhadas,” Mr Reddy said.
“The CM accepted all of them and admired our active participation. I would like to congratulate all sportspersons and sports associations on the encouraging development,” Mr Reddy added.
