Rawalpindi: With the political flavour blossoming in Pakistan, many cannot resist from sharing their views like former Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Akhtar who has been a Twitter buff. However, in an attempt to label Pakistan as a secular state on Twitter, the Rawalpindi Express goofed up.

Akhtar shared a post showing President Mamnoon Hussain administering an oath to new Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and referred either of them as a Darshan Lal, a newly elected Pakistani cabinet minister who is Hindu political leader.

“A Hindu political leader Mr Darshan Lal is now a cabinet minister in Pakistan. This is our polite way of saying Pakistan is a secular state,” wrote Akhtar without the image of Darshan Lal.

The blunder was soon noticed by many of his followers who trolled him instantly. Akhtar’s tweet went haywire to which many users even questioned his knowledge.

The former Pakistani speedster responded by saying the oath taking image was used as a reference.

“Friends, rather dan questioning my IQ plz concentrate on the message: We respect ALL religions. BTW oath pic in the last tweet was a reference,” Akhtar added.
