Murali Vijay dropped from TN squad
A release from the TNCA said youngster Pradosh Ranjan Paul would replace Vijay.
Chennai: India Test opener M. Vijay has been dropped from the Tamil Nadu Vijay Hazare one-day tournament squad after he failed to report for Thursday's match against Mumbai at SSN College on the outskirts of the city. TNCA is likely to send a showcase notice to the player and could take disciplinary action if the response was not satisfactory.
A release from the TNCA said youngster Pradosh Ranjan Paul would replace Vijay. “This was after Vijay failed to report for a match against Mumbai owing to shoulder pain which neither the state selection committee nor the team physio was aware of, the release added.
Vijay's commitment to the state side has been questionable of late as he keeps going off the field, with a substitute fielder walking in for him.
Vijay went unsold on day one of the IPL auctions, but Chennai Super Kings threw a lifeline to him on the second day by picking him for the base price.
