No day-night games during India's tour of Zimbabwe
'We have no flood-lights at this venue and can't host D/N matches,' Managing Director of Zimbabwe Cricket.
Mumbai: Members of the Indian cricket team who have played more day-night matches in the recent past (World T20, IPL etc.) will be playing only the day matches during next month's tour of Zimbabwe. This was revealed by Wilfred Mukondiwa, the Managing Director of Zimbabwe Cricket (ZC).
He said, "(The teams) will be playing only the day matches. No day/night."
Team India is scheduled to play three ODIs (June 11, 13 & 15) and three T20s (June 18, 20 & 22) at the single venue-Harare Sports Club.
"We have no flood-lights at this venue and can't host D/N matches and the tour has been organised (in consultation with the BCCI)," he added.
The matches will be played with the white balls and the players of both teams will be in coloured clothing.
Mukondiwa was hopeful of installing flood-lights at this venue in future. However, it is unlikely to so in a very near future.
The Indian selectors may rest the senior players and the team is likely to be of new faces doing better in the IPL.
Ravi Shastri may be asked to continue for this tour.
