Shardul Thakur rushes from Pune to Mumbai as parents meet with road accident

Mumbai: Team India pacer Shardul Thakur’s parents met with a road accident on Tuesday night in Palghar district in Mumbai. The couple who were travelling together on a bike is still being treated after suffering minor injuries.
Narendra Thakur and wife Hansa were travelling back home in Mahim village after attending a wedding ceremony in Alyali, Palghar. But on their way back, the bike skidded near Sundaram school, with the area undergoing a road construction under no streetlights.

Locals later rushed the parents of the cricketer to Dr Dhawale Charitable Hospital at Palghar. Dr Prakash Gudsoorkar, ortho surgeon detected a brain clot during a CT scan and as Narendra was treated around 11 pm where he was later shifted to Lilavati Hospital, Bandra.
“The patient is diabetic with hyper tension and already had undergone two heart surgeries and suffered intra cranial bleeding (intern bleeding of skull and brain) and was vomiting, hence we advised him to be shifted to the Mumbai hospital while his wife has been discharged as she suffered minor injuries”, the doctor told Hindustan Times.
Shardul, who is currently in Pune as part of the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) squad in the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) has rushed back to his hometown to visit his parents.
