Melbourne: 2016 has been a great year for Australian cricketer David Warner. The explosive opener is having a surreal year as far as the 50-over format is concerned.

Warner has scored seven ODI centuries in 2016. The batsman on Friday scored his second consecutive century against New Zealand in the ongoing ODI series.

With the knock of 156, Warner has now moved to the joint second position on the all-time list for most centuries in a single calendar year.

The Aussie surpassed legends like Gary Kirsten and Rahul Dravid to equal Sourav Ganguly's record for second most tons in a calendar year.

India’s master blaster Sachin Tendulkar hit an incredible nine ODI centuries from 34 matches in 1998.

David Warner has scored 1388 runs in ODIs in 2016 at an average of 63.09.
