Weather forecast predicts rain as Virat Kohli's India face Australia in Guwahati T20
Indian cricket team could not practice on the eve of the match on Monday due to rain and wet outfield at the ACA-Barsapara Cricket Stadium.
Guwahati: While Guwahati is buzzing with FIFA U-17 World Cup fever, the presence of Virat Kohli, MS Dhoni and the other Indian and Australian cricketers has generated a frenzy amongst locals ahead of the second India versus Australia Twenty20 here on Tuesday.
While the locals are looking forward to see their favourite cricketing heroes in action as the ACA-Barsapara Cricket Stadium set to hosts its first game, the weather may play spoilsport like it did during the first Twenty20 of the series in MS Dhoni’s hometown, Ranchi, on last Saturday.
Indian cricket team could not practice on the eve of the match on Monday as rain took centre stage. Kohli, Dhoni, Manish Pandey and Kedar Jadhav then decided to brush their soccer skills.
The weather forecast for Tuesday indicates possibility of a thunderstorm in Guwahati.
While the match is scheduled to start at 7 p.m. (IST), there are over 40 per cent chances of rain from 1 p.m. onwards till 6 p.m.
From the scheduled start of the match till 12 a.m., there are 20 per cent chances of rain.
India, who outplayed Australia to win the five-match ODI series 4-1, are currently leading the three-match Twenty20 series 1-0.
