World T20 players should be given chance: Shastri
Team India Director says 140 could have been ideal total in first T20 against Sri Lanka.
Ranchi: Team India Director Ravi Shastri on Thursday said that 140 could have been a good enough total to clinch the first T20 against Sri Lanka in Pune.
The visitors stunned the Men in Blue by five wickets in the opening rubber. They were uprooted by the rookie Lankan pacers who used the green top to their advantage.
But Shastri said this is the opportunity to experiment with the players who are a part of the World Cup squad.

“The ideal scenario is to give the players, who are in the World Cup team, a chance to play,” he said on the eve of the second T20 here.
Team India have been inconsistent in their limited-over show in the lead up to the current season.
They lost to South Africa at home, lost the ODI series to Australia but won the T20 series.
Do they need a full-time coach?
“The focus should the World Cup. BCCI will take a final call after that,” added Shastri.
