IPL 2016: Morkel, Tiwary join Rising Pune Supergiants
Both the cricketers earlier turned out for Delhi Daredevils.
Mumbai: Rising Pune Supergiants had a brilliant IPL Player Auction this season acquiring stars like Kevin Pietersen and Mitchell Marsh. On Thursday, the franchise bettered their team line up buying the services of Albie Morkel and Saurabh Tiwary from Delhi Daredevils.
According to a BCCI release, IPL Chairman Rajeev Shukla said: “The Rising Pune Supergiants have added more firepower to their batting line up by acquiring the services of all-rounder Morkel and specialist batsman Tiwary.”
India ODI and T20 captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Ravichandran Ashwin and Ajinkya Rahane are already in the mix.
Rising Pune Supergiants CEO, Raghu Iyer welcomed the two cricketers for the upcoming season and said: “They both are proven performers in IPL and will strengthen our taem.”
Delhi Daredevils CEO Hemant Dua wished them luck for the future.
The tournament will start on April 9.
