Cheteshwar Pujara equals Matt Prior's most Test run-outs record in last 10 years

London: Virat Kohli’s Team India had a forgettable day on Friday, when they were bowled out for just 107 runs in the second Test against England.

With the match starting only on the second day after Day one was abandoned, even the talismanic skipper himself could not play a big innings as James Anderson did the damage with his five-wicket wicket (5-20).

Cheteshwar Pujara, who was making a return to the playing XI, also had an innings to forget after he was run-out by Ollie Pope for just one run.

As a result, the 30-year-old joined the embarrassing list of being run-out in Test cricket over the last 10 years for the most number of times.

The Saurashtra batsman has been dismissed through this on seven occasions in the last decade, being level with former England batsman Matt Prior. He also went past Ross Taylor, Ricky Ponting and Rangana Herath in terms of the same achievement.

During the Centurion Test against South Africa in January, Pujara was at the unlucky end when he was dismissed in the same fashion on both the occasions.

After a tough rain-curtailed day for the visitors, Kohli and co will hope to bounce back when England kick off their innings on day three on Saturday.
