James Anderson starred in the fifth match for England against West Indies as the hosts completed a nine-wicket win in the third Test.
London: It was a match to remember for England pacer James Anderson, who picked up his 500th Test wicket in the recently-concluded third Test against West Indies at Lord’s Cricket Ground. Not only did England win the match by nine wickets and seal the series, but also Anderson finished his second innings spell with seven wickets for 42 runs from 20.1 overs.
It was while Anderson bowled out West Indies opener Kraig Brathwaite in the second innings when the experienced English pacer picked up his 500th wicket.
Apart from Anderson, it was a match to remember for a young couple seated in the stands.
In a video tweeted by Lord’s Cricket Ground’s official Twitter handle, a young man is seen proposing his girlfriend, while the girl looks in surprise and amazement.
During this, the spectators are seen applauding the young couple, as they share their special moment.

The West Indian cricket team’s England tour continues with the one-off T20 to played on September 16, which will be followed by the first of the five ODIs, commencing on September 19. The tour will end with the final ODI at the Rose Bowl, Southampton on September 29.
