I hope Yuvraj doesn't cause damage to us, says Duminy
Proteas all-rounder says the Indian all-rounder is the player to watch out this tournament.
Mumbai: South Africa all-rounder JP Duminy – who also represents Delhi Daredevils in IPL – lauded India’s decision to recall Yuvraj Singh ahead of the ICC World Twenty20.
Duminy is aware of Yuvraj’s exploits. They both shared the dressing room for the Delhi franchise in the cash-rich league last season.
“He has been a big match player for India. From an Indian perspective, I know the blokes are excited to have him back. He is a match-winner in the T20 format,” said Duminy, who took a hat-trick against Sri Lanka in ICC World Cup 2015.
Though Yuvraj is sold to Sunrisers Hyderabad for the forthcoming season of IPL, Duminy couldn’t stop praising the southpaw.
“He is someone to watch out for in this tournament. Let’s hope he doesn’t cause much damage if we come up against India,” he added.
The South African also declared his love for India. He believes the frequent tours, courtesy IPL, helps a player adapt faster.
“When you leave your family behind, it is a challenge. But now, the advantage is they are coming to visit us here. Everyone loves touring India. The country has great culture to experience, great bunch of people who are willing to do a lot for you,” said Duminy who helped the Proteas win the T20 series against India 2-0 last year.
“My wife enjoys India the most. She is looking forward to the IPL,” he chuckled.
