London: Hundreds by KL Rahul and Rishabh Pant went in vain as England provided a perfect send off to Alastair Cook, winning the fifth and the final Test at The Oval by 118 runs on Tuesday.

The hosts capped off the series with 4-1 drubbing after exposing India’s batting order woes once again.

While there were plenty of positives to take away for Virat Kohli and co after a hard-fought series, Twitterati once again singled out Ravi Shastri in their criticism as the visitors slumped to another consecutive Test series defeat on the trot.

Shastri had earlier come under fire for his comments on the current Test batch of the Indian cricket team.

"Last three years, we won nine matches overseas and three series. I can’t see any other Indian team in the last 15-20 years who’ve had that kind of run in such a short time. And you’ve had some great players in those series,” the 56-year-old had said ahead of the final match of the tour.
