Sri Lanka vs India: BCCI announce squad for ODI series, Shardul Thakur earn call-up
The Virat Kohli-led squad features Manish Pandey and Axar Patel, who are returning to the Indian ODI side after a year's gap.
Mumbai: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Sunday announced the 15-member squad for the upcoming ODI series against Sri Lanka, starting on August 20.
The Virat Kohli-led squad features Manish Pandey and Axar Patel, who are returning to the Indian ODI side after a year’s gap, whereas Yuzvendra Chahal has also been recalled to the squad.
An uncapped Shardul Thakur has also been drafted into the side, who will hope to make his ODI debut in the upcoming series.
KL Rahull, who played his last ODI against England earlier this year has also made the cut.
Mahendra Singh Dhoni will continue as the wicket-keeper of Team India . The top-order battinbg line-up also features of familiar faces like rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan and Ajinkya Rahane.
Kuldeep Yadav, who was a part of India’s team that toured West Indies recently has also been retained. The squad also features Kedhar Jadhav, who also took part in the West Indies series.
India, who are currently in Sri Lanka, have already sealed the Test series 2-0, with the third Test currently being played.
The five-match ODI series against Sri Lanka will commence on August 20. While the ODI series conclude on September 3, the one-off T2) will be played on September 6.
