Caught on stump mic! Virat Kohli brutally sledges Tabraiz Shamsi; video goes viral

Port Elizabeth: After being denied a chance in the Pink ODI in Johannesburg, Virat Kohli and his boys managed to lay their hands on the Momentum ODI series trophy after beating South Africa by 73 runs in the fifth ODI at the St George’s Park in Port Elizabeth on Tuesday. The win in the fifth ODI also extended India’s lead to 4-1 and powered them to the top spot in ICC ODI rankings.

Rohit Sharma’s century (115 runs) and some fine bowling performance by spinners Yuzvendra Chahal (2/43) and Kuldeep Yadav (4/57) helped Team India register a comfortable win over Proteas.

Kohli himself had fantastic series with the bat scoring 429 runs, which includes two centuries and a half-century so far. The Indian skipper was on his way to yet another half-century before being run out by JP Duminy after a mix up with Rohit Sharma.

During his stay at the crease, Kohli and former Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) teammates Tabraiz Shamsi were involved in a bit of a banter, where the South African bowler had a go at the Indian skipper.

Not the one to back down, Kohli returned the favour when Shamsi was at the crease during the South African innings.

"Chest pad Shammo (Shamsi), you have a chest pad on," Kohli chirped as the stump mic did the rest.

While it was not clear whether Shamsi was perturbed by Kohli's sledging, but his innings could last for a ball more after Kohli sledged him as he got out while attempting a big shot off Kuldeep Yadav.
