High security in place for Pakistan woman cricketers

The team will play two matches in Chennai first one on March 16 and second one on March 27.

Police sources said that relationship issues could have driven the girl to take this extreme step.

Chennai: The Chennai police on Sunday disclosed that they are providing utmost security cover for Pakistan women’s cricket team, which landed in the city on Saturday night to participate in the world T20 tournament scheduled in Chennai. The team will play two matches in Chennai – first one on March 16 and second one on March 27.

“We are providing full fledged security for them at their place of stay, during transport and also at the venue, which is MA Chidambaram stadium. Security will be also provided if they travelling around the city,” said a senior police officer. The access control system will be also under the police scanner, the officer added.
