Game, SAIT & RCB match
He is back as RCB insider Mr Nags, and gives us the lowdown on the team lead by Virat Kohli.
You know him as Nagesh, Asgar, Chacko and as the voice behind a host of several other rib-tickling avatars. This IPL season, Danish Sait is back as RCB insider Mr Nags and in a freewheeling chat, spills the beans on the Virat Kohli-led team.
“The idea is to take the mantra of being bold to the next level. This time, we want Nags to play bolder and get under the skin of every player and trouble them while they’re off the cricket field,” says the radio host and popular emcee, who’s looking forward to building a healthy camaraderie between Nags and the players.
While last year was all about ‘peas’ (read peace), this season, Mr Nags is upset about not making it to Team RCB. “This time it’s all about war. Nags is such a legend but wasn’t bought in the auction. It’s because of him that Chris Gayle’s team won the T20 World Cup. ?AB de Villiers had a baby and Virat Kohli won man of the series. Virat even changed his Twitter profile picture thanks to Nags, “ quips Danish.
He promises a range of videos that’ll leave viewers in splits. Accompanying Mr Nags will be his ardent fan who refuses to reveal his face. The fun elements include a battle between ‘peas’ and war and a battle for supremacy between Virat and Nags. “We are already shooting videos and some are out on YouTube,” says Danish, who is a big hit with players such as Gayle, De Villiers, Kohli, Shane Watson and Sarfaraz Khan.
As far as team secrets go, Nags shares an interesting gossip. “Virat loves momos! Everytime I have seen him eating, he is always gorging on momos. Everyone wonders how he eats so many momos,” he says. “The players are incredibly wonderful people. They are all warm, be it Virat or Chris or AB. The other night, I saw KL Rahul waiting outside for his car. So I asked him where he was going and he said he was headed to the temple to pray. Their fears are the same, their lives are the same as ours. You spend time with them and realize they are just as human as you and I are,” Danish explains.
If you’re a fan of RCB and Mr. Nags, then you can even send your requests to Danish on Twitter. Sharing a hilarious incident, he says, “Somebody wanted to know how Virat Kolhi takes his shower. So we actually asked him that question and he said ‘what do you mean by how do I take shower? obviously in water’.”
On a parting note, ask him who’s his favourite player and Danish says, “Yuzi (yuzvendra chahal) is sweet, I like him a lot. Varun Aaron has been incredibly sweet as well. Harshal patel is also a great guy.”
