Afridi went on record to say that he did not retire post ICC WT20 since he felt he was much better than some of the players in the squad.
Mumbai: Senior Pakistan cricketer Shahid Afridi has launched a tirade not only against Pakistan’s cricket administration but also the current players as well.
In an interview with BBC Urdu, former skipper Afridi did not think twice as he lashed out at the state of cricket in the country.

Afridi went on record to say that he did not retire post the ICC WT20 since he felt he was much better than some of the players in the squad. Boom Boom claimed he wanted to leave a capable team behind. However, with the current players, he thought he was definitely more capable of commanding a place in the team.
He further went to say that the chatter about plenty of cricket in Pakistan is false and the quality of the player pool does not match the international standard.

Afridi also assured to reveal how badly cricket was governed in the country after retiring. He wanted to say more but restrained due to his contract with the Pakistan Cricket Board.
