In an incident on Sunday, Team India speedster Mohammed Shami won hearts with a heart-warming gesture involving a ball boy. Shami was placed at the boundary ropes and was in urgent need of some fluids in the hot sun to stay hydrated during the match. Shami’s India teammate and speedster Ishant Sharma, who was in charge of drinks during that period, was seen instructing a young boy to lend Shami an energy drink.

Shami, who was placed a long distance, was relieved as the boy came to his aid swiftly with the fluid bottle. On receiving it, the Bengal cricketer hugged the ball boy as a part of a thankful gesture.

Previously during the match, the Sri Lankans were bundled out for 135, following which Team India enforced the follow on and restricted the Lions to 82-4 at lunch on Day 3, with Shami claiming 2 wickets. With an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series, Virat Kohli’s men will aim to pile the pressure and wrap off the series in style.
