Mumbai: Sri Lanka and world's highest Test wicket-taker Muttiah Muralitharan has figured in the documentary of Eden Garden's former curator Prabir Mukherjee.

A documentary on Mukherjee, who, at the age of 86, died in Kolkata (June this year) will be released soon. This was revealed by his grandson Pronay Mukherjee.

Speaking from Kolkatta on Sunday, he said, “The film takes you on a journey of discovering Prabir Mukherjee as a personality. It deals with his personal and professional life and his tenure as a curator at the Eden Gardens."

"It is a sort of an autobiography. Few shots were taken when my grandfather was alive and he knew about this film. Sadly, he is not there now," he added.

"It is a mixture of few languages including Bengali, English and Hindi. The title song is in English," said Pronay.

"We had requested Sourav Ganguly for few shots but due to his unavailability, we could not have his voice in the film," added Pronay.

"This film has Prabit Mukherjee's conversation with Ravi Shastri, VVS Laxman, Muttiah Muralitharan, Laxmi Ratan Shukla, Raju Mukherjee etc. The film is officially selected for the 22nd Kolkata international film festival," concluded Pronay.
