Col C K Nayudu Trophy: Captains' day out
Hyderabad's U-23 and U-19 skippers lead teams from the front.
Hyderabad: P. Rohith Reddy came up with a captain’s knock while Tanay Thyagarajan played second fiddle as Hyderabad piled the agony on Uttar Pradesh in their Col C. K. Nayudu Trophy Under 23 Plate division Group ‘B’ league match at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium here on Monday. Resuming the third day at 269 for 6, Hyderabad lost P. S. Chaitanya Reddy after the addition of only one run. Rohit, who was on 16, then took over the charge and tore the UP attack apart. The right-hander smashed 13 boundaries and nine sixes to remain unbeaten on 181 off 300 balls.
At the other end, left-handed Tanay too got into the groove and made 109 in 141 balls of which 12 were dispatched to the boundary. Rohit and Tanay — No.8 and No.9 on the batting card respectively — raised a whopping 221 runs for the eighth wicket to bat the visitors out of the game as Hyderabad made 579 in their first innings.
UP were 13 for 2 in their second essay when stumps were drawn for the day.

Pragnay hits double, Varun scores big ton:
M. Sai Pragnay Reddy smashed a double century and A. Varun Goud hit a huge hundred as Hyderabad piled a mountain of runs against Tripura on the second day of their Cooch Behar Trophy Under 19 second round Group ‘D’ league match at the Gymkhana ground on Monday. Captain Pragnay took off from where opener and Sunday centurion Tilak Verma left, to launch into the visitors and run riot. The right-handed No.3 plundered the bowling to belt 16 boundaries and two sixes that decorated his 285-ball 212 that inflicted deep wounds on the opposition.
During the course of his knock, Pragnay was involved in a mammoth partnership of 360 runs for the third wicket with Varun, who helped himself to a big ton — his 165 coming off 233 balls and studded with 10 boundaries and a six. That meant Hyderabad declared their first innings at 633 for 4 before taking two Tripura wickets for 46 by close of play.
Brief scores (day-2): Hyderabad 633 for 4 declared in 155 overs (B. Revanth 77, N. Thakur Tilak Verma 133, M. Sai Pragnay Reddy 212 — 285b, 4x16, 6x2, A. Varun Goud 165 — 233b, 4x10, 6x1, Rohit Singh 2/83) vs Tripura 46 for 2 in 25 overs (Tanmoy Das batting 26, D. B. Bebbarma batting 9)
