Visakhapatnam: Team India’s Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan sealed their spot as openers for their side and both of them have provided India with explosive starts. After India’s crunching 2-1 series win against Sri Lanka on Sunday, Rohit and Dhawan, self proclaimed ‘partners in crime’ were enrolled for a mock interview on bcci.tv, where Rohit played the anchor’s role.

Besides his Ranchi innings where he scored a 36-ball 43 runs, Rohit was unable to find form in the other two encounters, registering scores of 0 and 13 in Pune and Visakhapatnam respectively. However, the Mumbai star batsman aced it when it came to donning the hat of an anchor.
Rohit’s first question: “How you feeling after this victory?” Dhawan too was in his element with the reply. “Am feeling very good, we came back strongly in this series and we did good for our team,” he said.
Excerpts from the interview below…
Rohit Sharma (Ro): How you feeling after this victory?
Shikhar Dhawan (Dhawan): Am feeling very good, we came back strongly in this series and we did good for our team.
Ro: Your form is very important for the team. Since Australia, the last game we played in Sydney you’ve been hitting the ball well, anything particular you’ve been trying to do?
Dhawan: I feel fortunate that my teammates think my form is very important for my side. I am keeping it quite simple, making sure that I’m doing the basics right and just timing the ball rather than looking to hit it. Of course in this format we have to hit big ones too, but I make sure I play less dot balls so that pressure doesn’t build on me that much.
Ro: You’ve been hitting the ball very well. We saw that in the other night in Ranchi. Going ahead with Asia Cup and ICC World T20, anything particular you will try to do or will just try and keep it simple?
Dhawan: I’ll carry on with the same way, it’s working for me. I will like to extend this for as much as possible, which is good for me and my team. We both can give a great show to our audience and Indian fans when we go in the middle and we will make you stand on your seats.
Ro: You’ve been known as one of the prankster in the team. Is it something you will keep doing and keep the morale of the dressing room high?
Dhawan: Yea, that’s my nature. Me along with Bhajji pa (Harbhajan Singh) go very well with pranks. I guess people think I am quite a serious guy with my looks, but I am not. I am totally opposite. I love having fun, making people laugh and that’s my quality blessed by God. I will keep doing it in the dressing room whether the team wins or loses. We all should be happy, we got one life. Chaar din kee zindgaani, jilo jeetanaa jinaa hai!
