Shami’s wife Hasin Jahan took the cricket fraternity by storm on March 7 after she took to her Facebook to claim that the Indian pacer is having extra-marital affairs and his family members – Shami’s brother and mother – tortured her and tried to kill. She later claimed that Shami could have fixed matches and cheated on the country like he did on her.

While Shami has quashed all the accusations made by his wife, the Board of Control for Cricket in India has put his contract on hold. The Indian pacer said that if he is found guilty following the BCCI probe, he should be hanged.

In conversation with India News, Shami stood firm on his views on the claims brought against him, concurring to BCCI decision to investigate against him. Asserting that he can never deceive his country, Shami said he is ready to be hanged to death if found guilty of fixing. Shami broke into tears while opening up on the allegations of match-fixing.

Shami denied all the match-fixing allegations and said that playing for India is a proud feeling, it gives him goosebumps whenever he steps foot on the field, representing India.

Shami told India News, “The Indian cricket board cancelled my annual contract in a rush. I have played the game in free and fair manner” before saying, “hang me if found guilty in the BCCI investigation”.
