Bengaluru: Bangalore Zone’s KC Cariappa returned with a six-wicket haul to bowl out President’s XI for 293 on the first day of the Safi Darashah Trophy cricket tournament here on Friday.
At the RSI ground, previous game double centurion Abhishek Reddy top-scored with 78, Mir Kaunain Abbas made 69 while all-rounder Melu Kranthi Kumar contributed 59. Supporting the off-spinner Cariappa, Darshan Machaiah took two wickets.
In reply, Bangalore Zone were 66 for 1 at end of day’s play. Arjun Hoysala (22 batting) and Shishir Bhavane (30 batting) were in the middle.
