Watch: Joe Root practices on the road in Chennai
The England cricketer managed to get his quota of training ahead of the fifth Test in Chennai.
Chennai: Joe Root is a champion cricketer. Tipped to take over from Alastair Cook as England’s Test team and one of the best modern-day batsmen, Root, proved once again proved that no one, not even the situation caused by a natural calamity, can keep him away from honing his skills.
The incident came to light when England Cricket posted a video on their Twitter account on the eve of the fifth and final Test against India in Chennai.
With Chennai being hammered by Cyclone Vardah, the practice facilities were damaged. While the ground staff did a remarkable job to put the pitch and outfield in a top-notch conditions, neither of the team could really go through their batting drills.
Root then decided to have a practice session on the streets.
