Glenn Maxwell becomes 2nd Australian to score tons in Test cricket, ODIs and T20Is

Ranchi: Glenn Maxwell joined a list of select few cricketers to score a hundred across three formats of the game after he brought up his first Test ton on Day 2 of the third India versus Australia Test here on Friday.

Maxwell, who was playing his first game in the longer format of the game after three years, altered his swashbuckling approach as he and Australian skipper Steve Smith rebuilt Australian innings after they were reduced to 140-4.

Maxwell, who did not even have a Test fifty against his name before this match, scored 104 runs off 185 balls to put Australia in a dominant position in the Ranchi Test.

With a ton in MS Dhoni’s hometown, Maxwell joined the likes of Chris Gayle (West Indies), Mahela Jayawardene (Sri Lanka), Faf Du Plessis (South Africa), Martin Guptill (New Zealand), Mahela Jayawardene (Sri Lanka), Brendon McCullum (New Zealand), KL Rahul (India), Suresh Raina (India), Rohit Sharma (India), Ahmed Shehzad (Pakistan), Tamim Iqbal (Bangladesh), Tillakatne Dilshan (Sri Lanka), and Shane Watson (Australia) who have hundreds against their names in Tests, ODIs and T20s.
