Sunny was best for the game: Kapil Dev
\"Sunil was grammar of cricket, without grammar I played little bit of cricket,\" Dev quipped.
Mumbai: World Cup winning former Indian skipper Kapil Dev didn't go into comparisons of whether Sunil Gavaskar was the best ever batsman India has produced. He just said he was best for the game.
Kapil was also humbled with the honour of being inducted into the Legends Club Hall of Fame at Cricket Club of India but reminded he played for passion and not awards and rewards.
"Sunil was grammar of cricket, without grammar I played little bit of cricket," Dev quipped. "He was best for the game. People look up to him. There is no one who doesn't want to be like him," he added.
"We just played for passion not rewards and awards. With our success if people get happiness you feel proud about it. Cricket has changed, it feels nice," he said about the honour given to him.
"I came from small town and had passion to play and tried to impress Mumbai cricketers and media," he quipped. Gavaskar, who is already in the Legends Club Hall of Fame, was also felicitated. "It was honour for me to play with Kapil Dev. Nobody who has turned the match with both bat and ball as Kapil has done."
