Sreesanth's appeal for NOC to play in Scotland to be heard on Friday

Mumbai: Fate of S Sreesanth, who is harbouring hopes to play cricket in Scotland, may be decided on Friday.

"Sreesanth attended the court hearing on Tuesday and will remain present at Kerala High Court on Friday too,” the source close to him said.

"These arguments are only for getting NOC for Sreesanth to play in Scotland and nothing related to his life-ban or else", his lawyer, Sivan Madathil, confirmed.

"The court has postponed the hearing on 21st April after BCCI filed its reply stating not issuing NOC to Sreesanth," the lawyer said.

Sreesanth has been banned for life by the Indian cricket board for his alleged involvement in IPL spot-fixing in 2013, but had been acquitted by the Delhi Police for want of evidence. He has sought the NOC (No Objection Certificate) to play for Glenrothes Club in the Scotland Premier League.

Sreesanth, who has not been keenly following the on going IPL season in India, said that he is focusing only on Test cricket.

"I have not been watching the matches. Only on and off get some news on the IPL," he said.

"I have not interest in the IPL. Want to concentrate on Test cricket only. My aim is to play for India in Tests," he stressed.

Sreesanth has played 27 Tests for the country.

He, however is keen to play the limited over matches in Scotland.

"My UK and other visas are ready and once I get a go ahead will catch immediate flight," he said.

"Our league starts on 29th April and will run for 4-5 months. It would not matter even if he misses first couple of weeks", Eddie Gibbs, the Glenrothes Club official, said from Scotland on Tuesday.
