Here's what Virat Kohli said as RCB teammate AB de Villiers proposed to wife Danielle
The duo are currently playing for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), captained by Kohli, in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
Mumbai: India captain Virat Kohli and South Africa’s AB de Villiers are known for their fierce rivalry on the field, and sharing some smiles off it.
The duo, though, are currently playing for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), captained by Kohli, in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
In fact, RCB are currently playing their final league match against Rajasthan Royals (RR) as they hope to seal a playoff berth.
‘Spiderman’ De Villiers on Thursday made the headlines when he took a flying catch at deep mid-wicket to dismiss Alex Hales during RCB’s match against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) recently.
The South African big-hitter recently revealed what Virat Kohli had said to him after he had planned to propose his wife Danieele at the Taj Mahal back in 2012.
"I remember Virat told me when I got back, he's like you are raising the ball way too high for us! But I think he did a pretty good job now with Anushka," he said during one of the episodes of ‘What the Duck’ season three.
That was a very special time in my life. I surprised Danielle completely, she would have never thought about it. And could not have done it at a more special time than that,” he added.
“About a couple of months, leading up to the IPL, I was obviously planning and got the ring and all of that. And I decided to do it there. And once I got to the IPL, I got "security guards", who were actually photographers and videographers to film the whole thing.
"But I told Danielle I got to travel with security guards. So that's why they've got to to go with us. And it ended up to be a great surprise and I got it all on camera," he continued.
De Villiers, who married Danielle in 2013, has already played more than 400 matches for South Africa. He has 47 hundreds and 109 fifties for South Africa under his belt.
