6 sixes in an over: Yuvraj Singh hit Stuart Broad as MS Dhoni enjoyed from other end
This day that year in 2007, Yuvraj Singh turned the match and perhaps, future of the Twenty20 cricket in India.
Mumbai: September 19 will always go down as a historic moment in the history of Indian cricket. While this day, 10 years ago did not garner any major trophy for India itself, it contributed to India’s run to the final of the inaugural edition of the T20 World Cup, which the Men in Blue won, under the captaincy of the charismatic Mahendra Singh Dhoni.
What did happen this day, a decade back was something completely unforeseen in international cricket.
India were facing England in the Super Sixes stage of the tournament, in a virtual quarter final, in which Yuvraj Singh became the first batter to smash all six deliveries in an over beyond the boundary ropes.
Yuvraj had had little exchange of words with Andrew Flintoff, who clearly managed to rile the southpaw up.
However, the effect of this war of words was completely contrary to what Flintoff would have expected, was he became a mere spectator to the half a dozen sixes that flew off Yuvraj’s bat, from Stuart Broad’s bowling.

MS Dhoni, meanwhile, was the luckiest person on the ground to have watched the memorable moment from the best seat in the house.
