Faf du Plessis' South Africa topple Virat Kohli's Team India to top ICC ODI rankings

South Africa, who defeated Bangladesh in the 2nd ODI on Wednesday, are now the number one-ranked side in ODIs.

Mumbai: Virat Kohli-led Team India, who is currently on the ODI series winning spree, is toppled from the top spot in the ICC ODI rankings on Thursday. South Africa, who defeated Bangladesh in the second ODI on Wednesday, are now the number one-ranked side in ODIs.

While India and South Africa have 120 points against their name, India are placed second on the basis of decimal points.

The Faf du Plessis-led South African side took an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match ODI series after AB de Villiers slammed 176 runs off 104 balls.

India had claimed the top spot in the ICC rankings following their 4-1 win against Steve Smith-led Australian side. However, the Proteas, following their wins in the first two games of the ODI series vs the Bangla Tigers, have reclaimed the top spot.
