Karun Nair becomes second Indian after Virender Sehwag to score a triple ton in Tests.
Chennai: Karun Nair’s triple hundred (303 not out) was a showstopper as India took 282-run lead over England in the fifth and final Test here on Monday. The Karnataka batsman became the youngest Indian to score a triple ton in Tests as England, who trail India by 270 runs, ended day four at 12 for no loss.
Karun cashed in on every opportunity that was there as India punished listless England bowling attack on a pitch that offered no help for the bowlers. While the local lad Murali Vijay could only score 29, local boy R Ashwin (67) and Ravindra Jadeja (51) offered solid support to Karun.
