IPL auction: World No. 1 T20 bowler Imran Tahir goes unsold

Bengaluru: One of the biggest shocks of the ongoing 2017 Indian Premier League (IPL) player’s auction was world No. 1 bowler in ODIs and T20Is Imran Tahir going unsold.

The South African leggie’s name came up for the auction in the fifth set, but to everyone’s surprise, the veteran was not picked by any of the IPL sides.

Tahir has earlier played for Delhi Darevils in IPL. The veteran featured in the domestic T20 league from 2014-2016. In 20 matches for DD, Tahir picked 29 wickets at an average of 21.48 with an economy rate of 8.61.

 Tahir has played 31 T20Is for South Africa, picking 54 wickets at an average of 13.70 and a meagre economy rate of 6.38. In 70 ODIs, he has picked 121 wickets at an average of 23.55 and an economy rate 4.63.
