VIJAYAWADA: The Andhra Cricket Association (ACA) said on Saturday that it will be hosting the prestigious Col. C.K. Nayudu Cricket Trophy for under-25 men at Vijayawada from March 22 to April 8. Four national teams would be participating in the tournament that is to be played at the Mulapadu grounds here.

M.V. Siva Reddy, CEO of ACA, stated that association had made foolproof arrangements and would ensure the teams — Vidarbha,  Chandigarh,  Maharashtra and Railways — faced no inconvenience.

Siva Reddy said the four teams had reached the city and were in quarantine as required by the Covid-19 standard operating protocols, as the matches were being played in a bio-secure environment.

He said that the ACA  under the leadership of its president P. Sarath Chandra Reddy had conducted four tournaments — Visakhapatnam had hosted the Women's U-19 one-day tournament,  senior women one-day tournament and the men’s U-19 Cooch Behar Trophy with four-day matches while the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy was held at Vijayawada.

Siva Reddy said that after the C.K. Nayudu Trophy, the ACA would host the India-South Africa T20 match on June 12 at Visakhapatnam and followed by the Andhra Premier League for men and women.
