Good crowd for test cricket on third day in Visakhapatnam

Visakhapatnam: Finally, there was a good crowd at Dr YS Rajasekhar Reddy ACA-VDCA cricket stadium on Saturday during the third-day of the maiden test match in Vizag city and second in the series between India and England. The Andhra Cricket Association (ACA) has provided free entry to the students of various schools and colleges to watch the match on Saturday and some cricket buffs also purchased the lower denomination tickets to watch the Indian cricketers’ action from a close distance.
In comparison to the opening day’s figure of around 5,000, around 12,000 cricket fans witnessed the third day of the match on Saturday. The stadium has a capacity of 28,000. The ACA administrators are said that some pavilions will be full on Sunday and Monday as host India are in control over the second test match and India may register a win in the match. Kavita Bisoi, a resident of Steel Plant area in Vizag city, said that the day being Saturday (weekend), she, along with her friends, had come to the stadium and purchased Rs 100 denomination tickets and enjoyed the match as off-spinner Ravicha-ndran Ashwan grabbed a five-wicket haul and her favorite batsman Virat Kohli played ano-ther superb innings, she added.
“Thanks to the ACA for announcing free entry for students and fans on the third day of the test match, the management has provided free transport to watch the test match and finally I have witnessed the Test match in Andhra soil,” says P. Bhargav Kumar, a student of a private junior college, Yelamanchili in Vizag district. Cricket fans will line up to the stadium whe-never the test match is interesting. Hopefully, the ongoing test match may turn a twist in the fourth and final day and will give a great experience to cricket buffs in the region said the officials of ACA.
