Hyderabad youngsters end runners-up at T20 tourney

Hyderabad: Hyderabad fell at the final hurdle to finish runners-up in the sixth edition of the Rajiv Gandhi All India Under 19 Twenty20 cricket championship that concluded at the Lal Bahadur Stadium on Sunday.
The hosts found Rajasthan too hot to handle and lost the summit clash by seven wickets.
Batting first, they were bundled out for 114. Samhith Reddy was the lone ranger, scoring 62 as Rajasthan’s Pranav (3/24), Eshwar Sankhla (2/15) and Rajamani Prasad (2/31) did well with the ball. In reply, Rajasthan rode on Yash Gupta’s knock of 61 to overhaul the target in 17.2 overs.
Earlier in the semifinals, Hyderabad beat CFH by a huge margin. Batting first, they made 180 for 6 and then restricted CFH to 108 for 8.
Rajasthan tamed Tamil Nadu in the second semifinal. After bowling TN out for a paltry 73, they made heavy weather of the target to come up with 78 for 4 in 18.2 overs.
