Video: Auckland's Jeet Raval slams six off Andrew Ellis' head in Ford Trophy match
Jeet Raval played a knock of 149 in Auckland's 107-run win over Canterbury in a domestic match
Auckland: New Zealand cricketer Jeet Raval was talk of the town here on Wednesday when he slammed a match-winning knock of 149 for Auckland against Canterbury in a preliminary final of the Ford Trophy.
However, his hard-fought innings was nothing short of drama, as he slammed for a six during Auckland’s innings. However, that was no ordinary shot as the ball hit hard on Canterbury bowler Andrew Ellis’ head.
However, the bowler did not suffer any major injury as the ball had just ricocheted from Ellis’ delivery and ended up at long-on for a six.
Ol' Jeets used Andy's head as a ramp today. Don't worry, nobody died. #FordTrophy https://t.co/g2EsYaYifJ

Following this, Ellis was brought back to the pavilion, but returned after passing a concussion test.
In the end it was Ellis himself who removed Raval, and he finished his spell with two wickets.
While Auckland posted a big total of 304-6 thanks to Raval’s innings, the Auckland bowlers did the right job to bowl out Canterbury for 197, thereby completing a 107-run win.
