Mumbai: Rohit Sharma will get another chance to reclaim his throne when India locks horn with South Africa today.

During the last T20I match, Virat Kohli surpassed the hitman to become the highest T20I run-scorer after he scored an unbeaten 72 to guide India home against the in-experienced South African side.

After India won the last match by 7 wickets, Virat Kohli took his T20I runs chart to 2441 runs by surpassing the 32-year-old’s runs tally of 2434 runs.

If Rohit Sharma goes on to score above his eight or more, he would regain the top spot. Moreover, since Rohit is going to open the innings, he will have the chance to go past Kohli and snatch the top rank.

Meanwhile, Sharma’s limited-overs opening partner, Dhawan, who amassed 6996 T20I runs, needs just four runs to register 7000 T20I runs.

If Dhawan manages to score four or above then he would be the fourth Indian to reach the landmark, after Kohli, Suresh Raina and Rohit.
