Hyderabad: Minister for sports V. Srinivas Goud on Wednesday warned Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) against selling tickets for the T20 match between India and Australia at Rajiv Gandhi International cricket stadium on September 25 in black.

Reacting to allegations and complaints of massive irregularities in the sale of tickets, the minister said that he will visit the stadium on Thursday along with officials and conduct an inquiry. Goud said the government will examine the number of tickets sold as against the stadium’s seating capacity.

He reminded that the Uppal stadium was built on 23 acres allotted by the state government and the government has the responsibility to ensure transparency in the sale of tickets. He said the sports and police departments will maintain a strict vigil on sale of tickets. Goud warned of severe action against those found guilty of black-marketing of tickets.
